POS Receipts... Any successes with apps to get around Shopify's limitations?

Any successes with apps to get around Shopify's limitations? We need to be able to summarize discounts by line item on receipts. It's tiring to have to go into the admin to show the customer the line items because that's the only place in the Shopify ecosystem that it's summarized by line item. 

Also would be nice to do gift receipts. 

Also would be nice to be able to summarize only the items that are returned on returns.
