Prior notifications are required for updates on POS Go

A big problem is that the recent updates have been implemented without prior notification, which causes significant disruptions in our daily operations. As we rely heavily on this system, any changes to our functionality necessitate retraining our sales associates, updating processes, etc.

In order for us to continue to use the POS Go system, I am requesting the following:

  1. We need to be informed well in advance of any upcoming updates to the Shopify POS Go system. This notification should include detailed information about the changes being implemented and the scheduled date and time of the update.

  2. It is crucial for us to have the option to defer updates to our devices. This will allow us to schedule training sessions for our staff and ensure that our operations are not disrupted, as well as plan for the changes. We need the flexibility to manage these updates on our timeline.

  3. Comprehensive release notes that outline the specific changes, new features, and any potential impacts on current workflows.

  4. Access to support and training resources related to the updates, so we can efficiently train our staff on any new functionalities or changes.  I have found that Shopify documentation is regularly lacking

Hi, @elinenberg. Thank you for sharing this feedback! I can't guarantee all of this will be implemented, but I'm happy to pass along these suggestions. In the meantime, you can stay up to date on changes to Shopify using the Shopify Changelog here. You can also find our documentation on POS Go here.

That's exactly what I don't want -- those changes are only the ones that have already rolled out.  I need to know about the changes when they are scheduled -- not when they are deployed.  Something like this:  https://shopify.dev/changelog/scheduled although preferably with a longer lead.  Moreover, the video on the POS Go documentation page isn't even up to date with the most recent changes -- it's still showing the old UI/UX for adding items to your cart.  Don't you see how this is confusing for retailers and sales associates?
