Retail hardware, software, and Shopify Point of Sale
In the past 2 months i've purchased 4 WisePad 3 Card Readers and all of them have arrived with the "Tampered" error message upon initialization.
Also, the ones that do work, end up crapping out in less than 6 months.
Does Shopify do any sort of Quality Control on these devices?
I'm not expecting anything to come from this post, I just wanted to vent about it publicly.
Hi, @Daelan_Wood
Thanks for posting to the Community Forums.
Did you purchase your Wisepads direct from Shopify? If so these devices do have a 30 day return policy, a standard 1 year warranty, and a 2 year extended warranty with a POS Pro Subscription.
As such, please reach out to our live team with any concerns and they will help guide you through the process.
Thank you for the post. I was considering buying the wise pad 3 after getting a tampered error on the tap and chip even though it was not tampered with. But after seeing this, it looks like we may be looking at another platform then shopify if we are going to be losing money on buying card readers. It's crazy to me that a tech company as big as shopify can't compete with square when it comes to traveling businesses.
