Reserve Item via App?

I have a store where I only have one of each item, and sometimes they are very hotly desired and lots of people try to buy it at the same time.

Occasionally I will have someone message me directly to let me know they want to buy the item, and I am currently sending them an invoice and then they pay.

However recently I sent someone an invoice and before they had received it someone else bought the item via the website. Oops.

I know that I can "reserve" the item for a certain period of time when sending the invoice via the web version of Shopify, but there's no option to do this via the app. Is there a workaround to this? Sometimes I'm out and about and can't access the web version to send the invoice.
