Retail hardware, software, and Shopify Point of Sale
Our company is transitioning to shopify POS from an in house system. We make our own packages that only have a 6 digit SKU # encoded in a barcode. While other products we sell have a UPC barcode. Once the customer gets to the POS system, many items are not scanning because some have SKU barcodes and some have UPC Barcodes.
Here are my questions, Is there a way to get the POS to check for the SKU number first then the UPC?
Is there another way to copy the data from SKU to UPC field without overwriting the data that's there already?
Is there an app that fixes this issue?
To prioritize SKU over UPC scanning in Shopify POS, you may need to adjust the setup or use an app that supports flexible scanning rules—unfortunately, native settings don’t let you prioritize SKU directly. For copying SKU data to the UPC field without overwriting, a bulk editor app like Matrixify or Vela could let you automate this without removing existing UPCs.
