Retail hardware, software, and Shopify Point of Sale
I am new to shopifyPOS. At the moment it seems that I can only search for customers using their surname or email address. Is it possible to search for customers using their UK postcode as we have migrated our customer data from another source and a lot of our customers didn't have an email address associated with their account. This makes life a bit difficult when they have a surname like Smith or Jones!
Solved! Go to the solution
This is an accepted solution.
It seems not. However, I can find customers in our store using the City or Street (e.g. Brighton, Southampton, Chichester, Church Lane, Mill Road etc). You can also combine that with a Surname to narrow down the seach - for example "Smith Brighton". Might that work?

that's very helpful thank you very much
Hi I dont think that's acceptable
We're new to shopify and if we'd known there was this simple shortcoming ie we can't find uk customers by postocde we wouldnt have signed on.
Surely your developers can do better?
Example Mr Wilson Postcode EX1 wants to know something about his order
we have 20 wilsons who've ordered in the past month.
You expect us to find out that EX1 might be a town or a village then search for wilson+maybe town?
The point is why can’t we find him via his postcode
Hello, I am a shopify developer in the UK and will be happy to create a POS (public) application for searching by Postcode. We can talk about it !
Sure. Interested! How do we talk?
I have the same issue.
About 20% of our customers phone their orders in to us (they're often an older generation, some of whom have spent thousands of pounds with us over the last 35 years).
They sometimes don't even have an email address, and I think phone number isn't always a reliable method of looking somebody up, when they have both a mobile number and often a home landline number – will they remember which one they gave us?
Much easier for them to tell us their postcode, which will be unique to them (unless we have 2 customers in the same street).
