I'm reaching out to seek advice on setting up a system to receive alerts (preferably via email) whenever there's a change in the cost of a product upon receipt. Our store operates on tight margins, and staying updated on cost changes is crucial for our pricing strategy.

I understand that this might involve using Shopify's API and webhooks to track product updates, but I'm not entirely sure how to implement this. I'm looking for a solution that can:

1. Monitor changes in the cost of products.
2. Send an immediate alert (email or other forms) when a cost change is detected.

Has anyone in the community set up something similar, or could you provide guidance on how to approach this? I'm open to using third-party apps if they can meet this need, but I'm also willing to explore custom solutions if necessary.

Thanks for checking in. Right now, I’m managing cost updates manually by using a spreadsheet with a formula to compare the new costs from invoices. It’s functional but not very efficient.

I’d be interested in a solution that could automate this process, like an app that could track cost changes and send a CSV with SKU and cost updates. If you have any suggestions for an app or approach to streamline this, I’d appreciate it.

I'd recommend checking out the Arigato Workflow Automation app for Shopify. You can leverage this app to create a custom workflow that listens to product/variant updates and checks if the price has changed by logging the current price in the app's database.
