Selling name brand vintage

Hello, I'm trying to sell name-brand vintage clothing, and I'm confused about the legal aspect. I see some stores on the Shopify platform that sells name-brand product with no problem. I opened up a store years ago and got resistance from Shopify. I'm just trying to determine the difference.
