Can I create a location that specifically has a product catalog that is not carried at any other location? I want to pre-load this new location with special order product but I don't want the product to be viewable or searchable at other POS locations. Is there a way to do this?

Hello @BobWasson ,

We are OneCommerce - an eCommerce Solution Platform.

Yes, you can create a location that specifically has a product catalog that is not carried at any other location.

  • To do this, you'll need to use the Locations feature in Shopify and create a new location.
  • Go to "Inventory" section -> select the new location -> add products that you want to sell at this location
  • To make sure that the products are only available at the new location and not searchable or viewable at other locations, you can set the inventory level of those products to zero for all other locations.
  • Note that if you have multiple sales channels connected to your Shopify store, such as an online store and a physical retail location, you may need to set up separate inventory tracking for each channel to ensure that the products are only available at the new location.

Hope these can help, if so, please hit the Like Button or mark this as Accepted Solution to let us know, it means a lot to us.

I also want to do something like this. It's also for special order items
but we have samples. For various reasons we need to track the quantity of
the samples we have but at the same time we don't want to sell them or show
it as in-stock. I added a location called 'Samples' and, in theory, it
should have worked. But in practice, working with locations was so tedious
I reverted back to one location.
