My POS tablet keeps crashing. It worked fine yesterday and has since we have opened almost a year ago, but for some reason, today it won't stay open for more than 30 seconds without resetting itself. What
I un-installed the App and re-installed it. Seems to work now.
This happens to us every 2-3 weeks.
It is infuriating. With no warning we come in and open the app, only for it to close 20-30 seconds later.
Clearing the cache doesn't help. However, clearing the data in app settings fixes it.
However, you then need to re-login and assign the till and re-install the card machine. And this is not easy for all staff to do.
Shopify couldn't care less.
For anyone still having this issue: If you use the ‘Socket Mobile Companion’ app to connect your barcode scanner, uninstall the app and try opening Shopify again. If it works, you can connect your scanner directly to Shopify via Bluetooth. Hopefully this helps someone because it took hours of troubleshooting to find!
