Yes, Shopify occasionally rolls out POS updates that can reset your custom layout back to the default. It usually happens when they push a new POS version to address bugs or add features. You can keep an eye on upcoming changes in two places:
If you ever spot your layout reverted, you can reapply your custom arrangement immediately in the POS app’s layout settings, and then send feedback via the in-app support icon so Shopify knows how disruptive these resets can be.
