Retail hardware, software, and Shopify Point of Sale
I've been having this problem ever since I started using shopify POS, I sell books and when I scan the barcode on the book, it comes up as a completely different input than what is labeled on the barcode. I have to manually go in and check what the scanner is reading and paste it as the barcode for an item. It's very frustrating, and this only happens with the socket mobile scanner. When I scan with my phone it scans the barcode number correctly. Is there any fix to this?
I've been having this same issue, and as I began writing up my reply to you to add a "Add me to the list of people with this issue" note, I had some ideas and did some research based on those thoughts.
I found that this article helped me: https://www.socketmobile.com/knowledge-center/barcode-nfc/barcodes/ean-upc-barcodes/bookland-ean
Toward the bottom of the article are two codes to scan: one which says "Enable Bookland EAN" and one that says "Disable Bookland EAN". Interestingly, scanning the "Disable Bookland EAN" is what fixed the issue for me, which is backward from what it should be.
Make sure your scanner is not connected to any device when you scan the code. Easiest way to do this is to turn off bluetooth on your device, scan the code, then turn on bluetooth and reconnect the scanner. Then can an ISBN code and see if it fixed it. If not, do the same steps again and scan the other Bookland code.
I Hope this helps!
Thank you for this!
