Temporarily disable Apple Pay on phone processing payments vis tap & Chip reader?

When using the Shopify POS readers that have tap capability, occasionally I will accidentally pay via Apple Pay using my own phone because it’s right next to the payment reader when processing transactions.

This happens during exceptionally busy events when things get chaotic.

How do I disable Apple Pay temporarily so this no longer happens?
