use tap and chip reader before shopify store is open

I have a tap and chip reader coming in the mail but we haven't opened or shopify store as yet. We are still using our old web page and are slowly getting our shopify store up and running. will i be able to use the tap and chip reader before opening the new store.

You can certainly use the Tap & Chip card reader with your Shopify Point of Sale (POS) while you're still building your online store. If your account is still on the free trial period, you simply need to select a subscription plan (charges will only begin when your trial ends) to start transacting orders on the POS, or the online store. If it's already on a paid plan, then you're ready to receive orders.

Feel free to follow the steps below and refer to the linked resources if you haven't set up your POS sales channel and your card reader yet.

1. Add the POS as a sales channel in your Shopify admin
2. Choose a POS subscription plan
3. Follow this checklist to download the POS app, organize your products, configure your settings, set ....
