Retail hardware, software, and Shopify Point of Sale
We run a butcher shop where the majority of our products are sold by weight. We have the socket mobile barcode scanner and are trying to set up a system to scan our products at the checkout in an attempt to streamline the process. We have a scale that prints labels with prices and product information on them as well as a barcode. Ideally we would like to be able to use the barcode already printed on the product. The scanner doesn’t recognize the barcodes that are printed onto our products, only the ones that we made through the Shopify barcode generator, and I don’t believe those work with products whose price changes depending on weight. We tried using the Price Embedded Barcode Scanner app, but it was incompatible with the socket mobile barcode scanner. Is there a way that we can scan the already existing barcodes with the socket mobile barcode scanner and the Shopify POS app?
Hi @QuinnsMeats, I'm happy to share that as of late last year, the Shopify Socket Mobile Bluetooth barcode scanner is now compatible with our app. We welcome you to reinstall our app and give us a try again: https://apps.shopify.com/scan-price-embedded-barcodes
