What could cause sudden barcode deletion from a single vendor's listings?

Hello.

We have a multi vendor platform. I have ONE vendor who's listing were built, barcodes generated, printed and added - and worked for a period of time in POS.  Then suddenly today, all of this vendor's barcode fields are empty and the barcodes don't scan.  How could this happen?  Can I retrieve the barcodes?
