Retail hardware, software, and Shopify Point of Sale
I'm new to Shopify. I have NO idea what all I need, what kind of plan I need, or what's necessary for what I need.
I have had a couple business partners tell me that it would be simpler if I was connected to Shopify. I could sell their products on my page and get credit for the sales, while they do the shipping and all. So, what is necessary for me to set up, in order to do this?

Thank you! I'll take you up on that if I decide to sign up. I'm thinking I will probably sign up for the Basic plan, because the Starter plan doesn't connect me to Shopify Collective.
I've discovered a "few" things today.
Again, Thank you!

If by "my page" you already have an establish website, then see the starter plan and use buy-buttons.

Look at the starter plan to have something to poke at as your description is typical of a broad range of beginner cliche traps indicating it's not worth paying for a higher plan until some sort of hands on experience in failure is frustratingly worked through.

Shopify is not a cure all https://xyproblem.info/
"simpler" doesn't mean anything, there are critical specifics being omitted that will lead to wrong answers.
Just setting up an ecommerce website online doesn't mean anything, customers won't even know the site exists unless effort & money is put in.
But is an incredibly good way to burn money to try and maybe perhaps gain some sort of experience possibly.
With the lack of detail, and if there is no pre-existing web presence to springboard from, this just sounds like your being sold on an idea of get rich quick with drop shipping.
Be ready to loose money.
Is someone really a business partner if they are not communicating an actual business plan , the WHY that goes with actionable.
Business partners should be able to provide better specifics or setup guidance as to what's required before you invest time and money on a platform.
Along with some marketing plan, or ROI numbers or, etc ; actual business rigor.
Good Luck.

I would say that either you, or someone you know, has been taken (ripped off). Yes, I have a business. I've been in business for some time. I am aware of the scams ... God knows I've been approached by so many. I've learned over the years how to get rid of them quickly.
No, this is legit. And, with what I'm attempting to accomplish, this sounds very good. I've just needed to know what I need. Thanks be to God I've discovered much in the several hours since my original post. I've discovered that the Starter plan will not work for what I need to do, because it doesn't allow me to access Shopify Collective, which I will need to accomplish "some" of what I desire to put in place.
I appreciate your concern and willingness to admonish me, in case I was unaware. Your advice is very sound. Thank you!
Hey BishopDennis,

If you're new to Shopify and want to sell products from business partners, you'd likely need the Basic Shopify Plan to get started. This will allow you to create a store, list products, and accept payments. To sell their products while they handle shipping, consider using the Dropshipping model. Apps like Oberlo or DSers can help you easily connect and sell their products. You'll receive credit for the sales while your partners manage fulfillment.
