What's the difference between POS orders and sales?

Hi, I'm only doing POS right now and sometimes, when I have a sale it sends me an email that I have and order.  It's a completed sale on my POS system.  I'm sure I don't have something set up right, but I can't figure it out.  Any ideas?  I really don't need or want an email with a completed sale as it's extra work to look at it every time to see if it's something I need to handle.

Thanks!

Hey, @GHhandcrafts! Welcome to Shopify Community!

I understand you wish to stop receiving POS order notifications. This is certainly possible and easy to do, and you can disable and enable them as you wish. To disable the notifications, you can follow the steps below.

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Notifications.
  2. Scroll to the Staff order notifications section.
  3. Click Disable beside the recipient you wish to disable the notifications for. Alternatively, you may click the trash icon to completely remove the recipients.

If you'd like to enable the notifications after disabling them, you can follow the steps above but instead, click Enable. If you'd like to add recipients after removing them, you can follow these instructions.

I'd love to hear more about your business. What's it all about and how are the POS sales going so far?

Summer, Thank you so much!  I am selling arts and crafts in my community.  I have a store front for makers.  I'm trying to get a handle on this as well as my website.  I would like to do classes and have them accessible thru the website.  Steep learning curve I'm afraid.
