What's the difference between vendors and suppliers in POS systems?

Hello, I'm converting from qbpos to shopify pos.  I'm confused about the difference between vendors and suppliers.  We are a garden center and purchase the same plant from different vendors/suppliers.  I've imported my products and the vendors came with each product.  Now I'm trying to create a PO and Stocky is acting like it can only be purchased from the vendor that came over with the product import.  Do i have to make all vendors suppliers?  Looking for someone who's done this.  Thank you.

Create another supplier in stocky. Then the next screen you add which
brands that supplier carries. These "brands" are the "vendors" from Shopify
admin. Once you add a brand to a supplier, you will then see that brands
products available to you on the purchase order.

Thank you.  I'm still not clear or didn't ask my question clearly.  For example, a Willow Oak Tree is grown by many different growers (vendors in qbpos) and we purchase them from many.  When I converted my products, the vendor that came over with the product import seems to be the only one I can purchase from.  In Stocky, all of my vendors are listed as vendors and as suppliers.  So, when I complete the PO, should I order from a "Supplier?"  If so, and I need to convert vendors to suppliers, is there a bulk way to do that or must it be done one by one...I have 15K vendors.  Thank you.
