I'm having trouble with the iOS app for Shopify POS. After logging it it says i don't have access to the store.

It tells me that i don't have the needed Shopify permissions to log in to POS.

But, as far as i can see, i should have enough permissions to do so.

I am not the store owner, but i have:

- Access: POS App, Admin

- POS Role: Full permissions

- Locations: All locations

In Shopify POS i can access and change all settings, but for some reason i still can't access the store in the POS app.

I am using iPhone 13 with iOS 17.4.1 and already tried redownloading the iOS app, logging out and in, and turned on the "Reset account" setting for the app.

While there's no single option to reset all app permissions directly on an iPhone, here's the method to achieve this:-

Reset Location & Privacy Settings:-

1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.
2. Scroll down and tap on General.
3. Select Reset.
4. Choose Reset Location & Privacy.
This will reset all location-based and privacy permissions granted to your apps, including access to:-

Camera
Microphone
Location Services
Bluetooth
Contacts
Reminders
Calendars

Important Notes:-

  • Resetting Location & Privacy settings will erase all previously granted permissions for every app.
  • You'll need to re-grant permissions individually for each app that requires them in the future.
  • This method doesn't affect other app settings or data stored within the apps.

You likely already figured it out but the store owner will need to go into "Users and permissions" in Settings. Select you as a user. The scroll down to "Set up new or updated POS devices" under Point of Sale and tick the box. Simple fix but not super intuitive. You would think it would be in the app settings.
