Why is my POS app suddenly declining all types of payments?

The Shopify POS app stopped accepting payments, even cash payments, suddenly after working fine for 6 months. I've attached the screen shot of the error message.

I use the POS app to test our Shopify app so it is running a test store. No changes were made to the store settings, and the behaviour is consistent across other test stores.

I've tried un-installing and re-installing the app across multiple devices (iOS and Android) but i see the same error on checkout. Both, android and iOS are running a fresh installation of the latest app present on the respective app stores.

this is happening with our store POS too.  has anyone been able to get in touch w/ shopify customer service about this?

I talked to Shopify 45 minutes ago and they said its a problem across the board currently. They said they hope to get it back up and running in the next half hour but again, that was 45 minutes ago and ours is still down.

My company is having the same issue across all store pos locations. We are missing out on sales and only able to accept cash. I also am unable to get ahold of shopify support via call, still on hold. If anyone ahs a solution please advise!

2024 now and problem still persists. Driving myself and our bookkeeper nuts!

I was able to get a test payment through Shopify POS by activating test mode on Shopify Payments and then using the Credit card (manual entry) payment option: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/payments/shopify-payments/testing-shopify-payments

We have the same issue, to receive check payments. Was a ticket opened? Was it solved?
