Wrong total at checkout with large orders

Wrong total at checkout with large orders

I have had a couple large orders since swtiching to shopify POS last week, where after clicking checkout the total it wants to charge the card is different than what the cart said.  The first time was with 41 items, and my discounts weren't working so I had to individually adjust prices on most of the items.  I had it all set up, and clicked checkout so the customer could tap the card, and first of all it took like 40 seconds of loading to get to the checkout, but then the total was wrong.  So I clicked back to double check the $ amount and clicked forward again, same thing.  Finally like the 3rd or 4th time going back & forth it showed the correct total.  Same thing just happened today with only 14 items in the cart.  Is anyone else having this same issue?  If I can't get the POS quirks worked out in the next few weeks, I may have to find a different system before the busier holiday season.  Especially since support from Shopify is non-existnent.

The POS frequently has a delay and lag in getting your total correct. We try to make small chat with the client for a few moments to wait for it to catch up. The system is terrible. If you find a better option please post and let us know.

I am having the same issue. With almost every purchase shopify adds up the products as they are scanned & comes up with a total. Then 5-15 seconds later, that total changes. I'm not sure if shopify is adjusting taxes or what, but it's creating huge problems for our business as we don't use shopify for payments. Instead we copy the amount and charge in a differt program. So when the amount changes at the last moment, the customer is charged the wrong amount. very frustrating!

I was giving me too much anxiety and I could not imagine dealing with it through the even busier holiday season so I'm in the process of switching over to lightspeed.  So far Lightspeed is working 10x better.
