Hello - I am new to the Shopify platform and working with an agency. We have identified that we can synch our negotiated shipping rates with our Shopify Shop with a $20/mo feature upgrade to our current account. That is ok. But, I want to fully understand the process after customer check-out. We want to ensure that our system is able to generate the bar code, tracking number, and shipping label. If we add this feature, is that ability to generate shipping labels managed by Shopify? Or, can someone assure me that the shipment management can still be managed outside of Shopify with our existing shipping management software.
Welcome to the Shopify community! So, you'd be free to create your own system to create labels. As an aside, we don't actually have an endpoint that I'm aware of that would allow the creation of Shipping Labels via the API. In terms of what you can do with Shopify's API API post order creation, I'd thoroughly recommend to check out the Fulfillment Orders API docs here. Hope that helps!
