Any way to display a notification/alert on a merchant's admin home page [with an embedded app]?

Hello,

Is there any way for an embedded app to trigger a home notification that will show up on the merchant's admin home page at:

exampleshop.myshopify.com/admin

(as opposed to a card on the home page of the app: exampleshop.myshopify.com/admin/apps/my-test-app)

I saw this Polaris page so figured it might be possible, after some digging on the Github repo I couldn't find anything on it though:

Hi @Adam_Sound_Onyx,

We don't currently have any app extensions to display content on the admin's home page in a card. I can see the value in that, but I can also see some issues that could arise with that (abuse, for example). It's a good feature request, and one I'm happy to take.
