API - how to identify pre-orders?

Hi,

I hope you will be able to help me with the following problem.

I’m trying to find the best way of identifying pre-orders from regular orders? I’m working for fulfilment centre which fetches Client’s orders using shopify graphql api integration.

As a fulfilment centre, we don’t want to pull pre-orders until we have stock our end.

Can you set up some rules in Shopify to set fulfilment status on hold for pre-orders? And change it to unfulfilled once the stock is booked?
