Creating multiple partial captures from Admin console

At the moment, I have a custom gateway which redirects to all my APIs nicely.

On the order page, when I click on capture, it gives the following message: "Processed by <own payment>, you can only capture once on this gateway"

How do I enable or allow multiple partial captures on my custom gateway? I can't find any documentations regarding it. If I capture that's not the full amount, the status gets updated to partially paid but I can't interact and capture again

To add on to this, in the orders page, I tried to filter to partially paid and click the capture button.

Doesn't work and doesn't send meaningful response (just a 200). Any insight would be appreciated
