Our Subscription partner – use Draft Order APIs to create recurring orders. They check if the item is in stock before starting to create orders. Most of the items are set to limited inventory. But when Shopify hits the inventory count to 0, draft order API doesn’t prevent order creation, Rather orders are now created with negative inventory. If an order is created with negative inventory, those orders cannot be fulfilled and needs to cancel or modify.
What is the best way to handle this? We just got hit with a large operational issue due to this. And with holidays coming, this can grow into a big customer and business impact.
