Payment Apps Retry policy

Hello,

regarding the retry policy mentioned in this doc:
https://shopify.dev/apps/payments/general-transaction-requirements#retry-policy

it does not mention if there are any steps necessary after the 18 retries failed, so my ask is:

is there any manual/automated action required from the transaction processor?

Hi @dabedala 

We have another doc resource here: https://shopify.dev/apps/payments/processing-a-payment#retry-policy which goes into a little more detail.

Basically it's expected that one of the retries would get through before the max limit is reached, as you would generally only need to retry in the event of a service disruption. 

If it did continue to fail for the entire 24hr period, you should assume that Shopify did not receive the payment information and the buyer should not be charged (or if they were, the charge should be reversed).
