Product Admin Links to Popup

Hi,

In my app I'm trying to create a Popup/Modal that appears over the product admin page when the merchant clicks the Admin Link. The Google Shopping app successfully does it:

Their link looks like this:

But an online search shows no info on an "incontext_app_link".

Does anyone know how to do this?

This isn't possible yet - but something is in the works. For now, the closest you'll get is admin links.

Thanks, I look forward to that. How is it that the google shopping app is doing it already?

It would be great if we could also place settings right on the product admin pages... some of the settings I need for my app could be easily set right on that product page, without requiring the merchant to open a popup, let alone go to the app to make a small change.  Perhaps it could just allow for display and setting some product metafields? I don't even need it to run any of my own code; just modify a metafield.

I understand that you don't want developers to mess around with the core functionality of Shopify, but it doesn't lead to a great experience for merchants when they have to go through several steps to make small changes. Perhaps it could be an optional UI element that the merchant could choose to add/remove from the product admin page.

Hello @SBD_, are there any updates? We really need this feature, and google has been using it for more than a year.
