Same product variant in separate lines in POS

So I am in process of analysis of migrating a big magento2 project to Shopify Plus.

One of the requirements is to create a POS app for "Dynamic Bundles" where this will have volume based discounts.
The app requires that if a product/variant is added twice to the cart, the 2 instances would appear in separate cart lines.
I know this can be done in the Shopify Frontend by adding different line item properties to the 2 instances. Does someone know if this can be done in POS?
