shopify REST API calls on shopify app development

Hey,

I'm currently working on a shopify admin custom app which I generated using shopify-cli. 

I wish to build my project in a way that it will fetch data from the store using REST API calls, but when I tried to look for example to achive that at the starter exmaple i only found some graphQL-based examples.

i'm awared there is a module named "shopify-node-api" which is the shopify's official node REST API client, but I didn't find any examples how to use it on shopify admin app projects...
