[Urgent] List of supported payment gateway names and their codes

Hello Shopify Team, 

We're trying to build an integration in which we will allow orders only if their gateway is one of the user's mentioned gateways. For this, we're trying to prepare the list of gateways and their respective codes so that user will identify their gateway codes easily.

Example: For CyberSource gateway, gateway code will be "cyber_source". For Amazon payments, it will be "amazon_payments".

I found the commonly used gateways list here. Where can we find their respective gateway codes?

Hey Bharath,

I'm not sure why you're trying to do this. There is no public list of all gateways with their respective codes, so you're likely not going to be able to accomplish this.

We have this requirement for our customers to get orders only if their payment is via a specific payment gateway.

If there is no public list for these gateway codes, can we know how the payment_gateway_names is being generated in order JSON? or list of valid values for that field?

payment_gateway_names are serialized internally as part of the platform, they're not exposed to public endpoints.

That's a very bad news for us. So there is no way we can know the gateway code of a 3rd party provider without placing a test order?

Sounds like a security issue.  You might not get much help.

I'm not sure what is stopping Shopify team to publish this list because they are anyway visible when we placed an order with that gateway.

I guess we need to go through all our customer base orders and prepare this list
