A new discovery on how to increase reviews super fast by some partners working on the App Store

It's still me, a free and inquisitive guy! 🙂

My free time will probably help Shopify to filter out fake reviews.
I've been trying to find out for a long time how many partners increase the number of reviews for their apps so rapidly. In the past I have seen them use the common way to remove the copyright of the application in exchange for a good review.
And I have just discovered a few partners, quite large partners, using a different, more sophisticated and discreet way.
When a customer installs the app for the first time, the app will have limited features. These partners will suggest opening more features for customers or for customers to use all the features of the app at zero cost for a period of time. And after doing that, they will ask customers to leave a review for their app. If you were their customer, would you leave a review? I think most customers will leave reviews.
We can see, a lot of reviews are left after just a few minutes of installation. This is quite unusual for large applications that have a lot of features and take a long time to experience.
If you read bad reviews on apps with a rapid rate of review growth, I guarantee that you will find reviews that reveal how the app gets good reviews.

This app still has nearly 10 new reviews every day. And pay attention to the time to leave the review.

Good find! We've noticed the same things with some other apps.

It's part of the reason we've launched a free website name AppNavigator that shows historical data for apps on the App Store as well as a breakdown of how long users have used the app before leaving a review:

As you can see above, almost half of all reviews were left in the first hour of the app. I tried the app myself because I was curious and sure enough, features were locked until I started a live chat session where the asked for a review.

It's sad and unfair because such applications still exist and grow strongly every day thanks to tricks asking for reviews.
