Adding Automatic Compatibility Search Feature

Hello, I am in the process of developing a website for a store, and I have a specific feature in mind that I'd like to implement. I want to enable a product compatibility search function on the website. Essentially, I'd like to know if it's feasible to have the website automatically identify and recommend compatible products from our inventory based on the user's input.

Here's a practical example to illustrate my request: Let's say a customer is interested in purchasing a screen protector for their smartphone. Instead of manually browsing through our product catalog, I envision a system where the customer can enter the model of their smartphone. Upon doing so, the website would then instantly display a list of screen protectors that are compatible with that particular smartphone model.

I'm curious to know if such a feature can be implemented, and if so, I'd appreciate any guidance or assistance you can provide in making it a reality. Thank you very much for your help and expertise in advance.

Hi Maria i need the exact same, we have just moved to a 2.0 theme. one of the reasons we stayed on the old theme for as long as we did was compatibility. we used to use tags in all the products and when a customer selected the make and model of their device it would show which of our products were comaptible we have now lost that functionailty.
