Alt Tagging automation

Need some pro help. We are using a system that uses the Image Alt Tag to sort products into their respective swatch. So: If the product is tagged 'Teak' (exact word' it get's shown in the product slider (image slider) when a user clicks the 'Teak" swatch.

This however is a crazy amount of manual work on thousands of images and swatches. Is there a way to automate this proces by pulling from the filename for example?

Would great if someone could point me in the right direction.

Upon investigation, we discovered that when there is a modification in either the pattern or material of a product, it triggers the rendering of the alternate tag. Consequently, the product becomes visible in the product slider.

Certainly, we are capable of making these changes in bulk on your behalf. However, it's important to note that there will be associated costs for this service.

Correct. We are not looking for a Bulk upload but rather an automation that pulls the Alt Tag that we use for the product variants from the filename.

Thank you for verifying that. Before I offer a solution, I'd like to gather some information about whether you manually create products or if you utilize a CSV file or any other import utility for product creation.

When I had a store we used Crush Pics to automate alt tags, I remember there being rules you could setup, filename might have been one of them.

If not, I would reach out to them and ask if they have an option to do what you're looking for, as a bulk job, they may be able to create a solution for you if it doesn't already exist.
