App blocks within the slide out cart/cart drawers

Using the theme app extension technology and merchant's store editor, is there a way to add "app blocks" to a slide out cart drawer? I don't see an option or path to do this action within the store editor as none of the template pages (index, cart, etc.) updates the slide out cart drawer.
