App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
I run a convenience grocery store that will be starting deliveries online. I have a lot of offers that are like 2 for £10 or 3 for £20 etc.
I'm looking for an app that allows unlimited auto discounts as shopify seems to limit most apps to 5 for some reason. It should also use fix amounts off instead of just percentages.
I've tried a few already such as All In One Discounts, which wasn't bad but the cart system wasn't working correctly, the offers weren't displaying correctly in the cart. Most of these apps have issues at the cart page, the ones that work flawlessly are limited to 5 auto offers.
Could anyone recommend an app for grocery stores that has unlimited auto discounts and one that actually works well?

This is an accepted solution.
So after almost 2 week of researching and trying over 20 apps, I've found that if you're a retail store with a lot of offers, you should use BUNDLES instead of discounts. Bundles have no limits. Below is my BEST reccomendation:
Bundler: Product Bundles
This app works FLAWLESSLY, it has unlimited bundles, but also... it auto detects if the customer doesn't use their widget and instead just uses the Shopify default 'Add to Cart' button, and still applies the discount! This feature is amazing and only a few bundle apps have it. This app has solved all my discount and offer issues. I can mix and match bundles, I can set a fixed price as well.
It's also only £6.99 per month. The devs also have apps with free plans for Free Gifts, if you're looking for that. Hands down the best app.
@KB24 , unfortunately, it's not technically possible for any app to bypass the 5 automatic discount limit.
What apps can do is help create discounts that let you specify multiple tiers within the same discount. If that's something you're open to looking at, I suggest you try our app, Discount Bot.
Here's how you would create a multi-tier discount (based on your example) on the admin side:
And here's what customers see in their carts:
5 items in cart:
6 items in cart:
To maximize the use of discounts even further, you can also apply the discount to the whole store (all products), but exclude just the products, collections etc. that you don't want the discount to apply to.
This way, you might need to create / define much lower number of discounts in the admin than you originally thought you might need.
If there are any questions, please let reply.
Hi KB24,
You're correct that Shopify limits stores to 5 app-based discounts. However, through working with over 1,000 stores using our app, Regios Discounts (4.9 stars, 48 reviews), we've found a workaround to help with this:
We found that Shopify only enforces the limit when creating discounts, not when activating or deactivating them. This means you can create more than 5 discounts with the following steps:
Our app also offers what you're looking for: fixed amounts off (like €10), multi-buy offers (e.g., 2 for €10 or 3 for €20), and automatically shows discounts on product pages. With our unique flowchart-style logic builder, you can work around the 5 discount limit and create complex discount setups tailored to your needs.
Feel free to reply with questions or try Regios—our support team is responsive and can guide you through setup if needed.

Does this deactivating and activating happen automatically? Your pricing model seems like it would be very expensive for grocery store like mine that have high sales but with low profit margin, we will easily a high number of orders.
Do your app only take into account orders that are using offers set by your app, or just every order, even when they aren't using your discount code?
@KB24 , the discounts created with Discount Bot work seamlessly with native discounts. Regarding the pricing model, I understand your situation is unique - higher number of orders does not necessarily mean high profit margins with each order. If you can get in touch with support we could also look at customizing a pricing model for you.
Is that also limited to 5 discounts though? Retail stores have a lot of offers on, I can't be limited to 5 discounts.
Any discount app based on the Shopify Functions API is subject to the 5-discount limitation.
If you already have 5 active discounts, you can deactivate some of them temporarily, create the new discount and then reactivate the ones you just deactivated.
Edit: It looks like this loophole has been closed by Shopify. All apps are limited to 5 automatic discounts at this time.
Hi KB24,
I can understand your concern about pricing due to your high monthly order volume. However, you will only be charged based on the number of orders using offers set by our app. Hopefully, this makes the app affordable for you.
Unfortunately, discounts do not activate and deactivate automatically. I've considered coding this into the app, but there are too many potential problems, and I don't want to create unpredictable behavior for stores.
Typically, our customers deactivate some discounts while setting up new offers and then reactivate them all afterward.
I'm happy to answer any further questions you may have!

Another option I want to mention for dealing with the 5-discount limitation is using our app's advanced logic builder to build discounts that can handle multiple conditions. For example, you could use one "discount" to create offers on multiple conditions. It's structured similarly to Shopify Flow, so you will hopefully have an easy time figuring out how to use it.
Here's a helpdesk article we have written about the 5-discounts limitation:
https://regiostech.crisp.help/en/article/5-app-based-discounts-error-qmp925/
I've watched your tutorial on using it, seems pretty simple. Will this logic builder allow me to have as many offers I need? I just need a lot of 2 for £X offers or 3 for £X. So if a product is £2.99 each, they add 2 to the cart, the total should be £5. If they add 3, the total should update to £5 + £2.99 = £7.99, then if they add 4 altogether, the total should be £10. So the offer only works in sets of 2.
I appreciate you trying to help!

For your needs, I'd recommend trying ADU: Automatic Discounts. It allows unlimited automatic discounts, so you won't be limited to just 5 offers, and it supports fixed-amount discounts like "2 for £10" or "3 for £20." One of the strong points of this app is that it handles discounts seamlessly across the cart and checkout, which should resolve the cart display issues you’ve experienced with other apps.
Another option to consider is AIOD ‑ All‑In‑1 Discount . It also allows for complex discounts and promotions with better cart display and functionality, making sure your offers show up correctly for your customers.
Last but not least, don't overlook the importance of customer support for your new online store. I can see your website lack of customer support tool so that you can reply to your customer promptly . Being available whenever customers need you the most can help drive more conversion to your store

ADU: Automatic Discount actually works well, however the pricing model they use does not work for retail stores, they charge a service fee on top of a basic monthly charge, retail stores are high turnover with low profit margins, just because we do high sales, doesn't mean we make a lot money. Therefore their app would cost around £80 per month.
This is an accepted solution.
