App to display how many orders currently in our queue to customers, progress bar

Hi all,

We have a problem with customers trying to understand what our current queue of orders is like so they have an idea of how busy we are, so they can see it will be a while before we process their order.

I need an app that shows like a temperature gauge from green to red in the header of our site of how many open orders are currently waiting to be processed. So customers can see how busy we are without having to ask us.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Hello,

Please find the link to the app: https://apps.shopify.com/busy-meter

It only went live today. Hopefully it will meet your needs but please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, feature requests etc.

Best regards,

Progress bars are one of the most common, familiar UI components in our lives. We see them every time we download a file, install software, or attach something to an email. They live in our browsers, on our phones, and even on our TVs.

If any Shopify App developer is willing to develop this idea for me, we would of course be willing to pay for the service.

I can't see the app to add it to the sections?

What theme are you using? Does your store use an Online Store 2.0 theme that supports App Blocks?

Thanks,

Kris

Our store uses Venture theme, I'm not sure if that's a 2.0 theme or not. www.rogueworx.com

Thank you for your feedback. I will look into implementing backward compatibility and will get back to you.

Hi, I just added embedded block feature to the app which should also support vintage themes. You can find the link to this feature in the Getting Started page, at the bottom of the Step 2 section. Hopefully it will work okay now but please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Great to hear 🙂 Hopefully it will all work well for you but I would really appreciate your ongoing feedback so I can keep improving the app.

It would be cool if you could make it "learn" to adjust its own thresholds based on our average orders count per month and how long it typically takes us to dispatch an order, though I appreciate that kind of smart learning would be difficult to program. Just giving ideas for future, in case you need them. Thank you.

It's very good suggestion, thank you. I was thinking of something similar. It is a significant feature but if the busy meter will take off (fingers crossed :-)) then I will surely be investing more and more time into it.
