Back in Stock Triggers

Back in Stock Triggers

I am looking for a back-in-stock app that will allow the trigger to be something other than the product name. All of my furniture pieces are one of a kind and have individual names. I have customers that see sold pieces and want something similar, so I'd like to be able to automate the notification for a "buffet", product type or, a tag that I could use for maybe type and dimension.  I just can't use pro

Hey @CaseyGrace , We are a Shopify App Extension development team and we would like to solve this problem you. We are willing to create an app extension that has the re-triggering features you need. If you could send us more details about this issue, we could get in contact and start implementing this solution.

What's the exact functionality you'd want in the back-in-stock app? (take action on a product? send a notification to staff or a certain customer? only take action on certain products with a tag?)

If you outline the exactly functionality you want, someone should be able to recommend a solution.

Sounds great! The issue is that ALL of my products have a unique name and SKU. All the current apps require the name or SKU to be the trigger for sending an email, when a piece is back in stock. I sell one of a kind vintage furniture products that are in 3 collections,

• Rescued (ready for customization),

• Refinished (ready to ship), or

• Reclaimed (sold).

I want the ability for someone to tell me they want something "similar" in design style, product type or dimension.  So someone could tell me they want a campaign style, low dresser that is longer than 65". I could then use a tag for "campaign", lowboy dresser is product type already, and then dimension might have to change to a different type of meta field, (I just don't know how to do that yet).

The absolute minimum would be product type and width or height dimensions only. Depth is pretty standard on all pieces. I have no idea if this is hard to do so I'm open to recommendations on how to get there.

Thanks.

Ah I see. Yeah I've used back in stock apps where if an item is out of stock, there's an email field so the person can get notified when that item is back in stock, but as for similar items, I haven't seen that.

Another idea, what if you showed related products on a page where it's out of stock?

For example, if a product is out of stock, then show some products that have a certain tag?

Here's an example of something I built awhile back custom for a store: https://treetribe.com/collections/leggings/products/forest-camo-leggings

Basically set up some custom code to create the system, then the store tags items they want to be in the same related group (in this case, the mask and bra that have the same design as the leggings).

So in your case, could do something like that. If you don't have a go-to developer to handle that, or don't want to take on a custom coding project, my company has a new app coming out soon that will have a similar system as that, but be flexible to use and no coding involved. If that type of thing would provide a solution feel free to reach out at productautomator.com/contact to request beta testing access. Nice thing about that you could make requests for your scenario and probably get a solution built.

Another idea, there may be a "related products" type app that you can configure to how you want to achieve your goal.

Another idea yet, you could use an email marketing software like Klaviyo and have a form on your site that captures the user's info, and then sends an email with products of a certain tag. I've used that software in the past, but haven't done exactly what you're asking, but it's something they might be able to help with a solution.

Hope those ideas help.
