Is there a simple app that lets you ban abusive or crazy customers from sending messages. Im after something with the provision to block unwanted people from continuously messaging through the chat bubble. I'd uninstalled the Shopify inbox today but I can't find an alternative message chat bubble type app that can do what I'm wanting which is block specific people from messaging.
Ie There's problem customers that keep sending abusive and threatening messages through the Shopify inbox, I can block them from contacting me through all other channels with phone e-mail and Facebook but the way they're getting through is via the website inbox. The only way I could stop the messages was just uninstall the Shopify inbox which I didn't want to have to do as now other customers can't live message anymore.

I don't know whether have any way to customize your live chat app to specifically abandon a customer from accessing the live chat. You can try Shop Secure app to ban a customer from log in to your store by checking their IP address. But I don't know whether it fits with your demand. You should try some third party apps that provide live chat and ask them for customization. I agree @MC71 , Shopify Sellers should have the option to BLOCK people who harass or spam their Shopify Inbox.
ALL FREE online platforms give Users the option to block people who harass them, but Shopify doesn't give this as basic feature to their paid subscribers?!
Again, Shopify relying on 3P to fill a niche but when that doesn't happen, failing to do it themselves.
I got to this thread looking for the same functionality because our inbox is getting spam and I want to block those senders. Now I have to go and downgrade my review of Inbox.

A Block Conversation option was finally added to Shopify Inbox.
It's the Exclamation point icon in upper right hand corner, see attached screen shot.

tested it with a throw away email and after being blocked the user just encounters a spinning wheel when trying to use that email to start a chat.
This is all well and good but it comes up short! Once you block someone you can no longer access logs of the chat with them nor does their seem to be an option to review the customers that have been blocked and to unblock them should you wish to do.
