Best Wholesale App?

Hi,

We are a small business who want to allow our wholesale customers to login to a wholesale account and be able to automatically apply a wholesale discount or buy on credit. We understand that the Shopify Plus plan offers a wholesale app, however, as we are a small business we can't afford to upgrade plans. We'd appreciate any recommendations for an alternative wholesale app.

🐲🗺The sanest answer is a separate wholesale store for most every wholesale scenario on shopify, without Shopify-Plus, will be for the forseeable future;  unless the markets feature every allows duplicate regions.

Hi @CausewayCoffee 👋 Every system you add to a requirement is a multiplier of complexity not an addition decreasing chances of a one size fits all app (wholesale * accounts * discount * store credit == needle in haystack)

Spark layer might be? the closest as store-credit complicates requirements and that app has a credit-limit feature to at least get in the ballpark of that over complication.

Otherwise just ask the app search a limited scoped concise question then shortlist by either:

1.  firing of an email template to the different vendors supports
2. and or going through the apps support docs
3. or installing the apps

you may need to sub "store credit" for "net terms"|"invoicing" in tradeoffs of workarounds for that feature.

App Shortlisting Guidance

"best X" is a massive fallacy and cliché when seeking recommendations as your asking everyone to play favorites or get you to use their app.

Especially when you've pre-excluded the flagship offering.

Avoid pigeonhole/unicorn-hunt for singular do everything apps it does not need to be ONE app doing everything;

access can done through theme customizations or access control apps like locksmith,  discounts can be a separate app , as can store credit through the online-sales channel be handled by a different app, etc, or automations between discounts and store crediting using an app like usemechanic https://tasks.mechanic.dev/ 

Especially if on a budget as unicorns can be very expensive and you can trade your time for setting up a custom process.

Every case is different and wrong questions get wrong answers.

Be specific in the business requirements at all stages "app(s)that can do X A B or C" in search, in titles/email-subjects and descriptions avoid hyperbolic extremes.

Otherwise it's solvable by googling the category i.e https://www.google.com/search?q=shopify+wholesale+app

Or if no unicorn kitchen sink is found you need have a custom app or custom process built.

Hey @CausewayCoffee, I hope your business is going well. I can totally relate to you, and many times I also want to spend less and get something good.

I usually try searching on the Shopify store and checking reviews, but the higher subscriptions tend to be way too high. I would recommend trying searching more, as there are new apps in the store, and using the trial to see if that works for your needs. Hope this will help.
