Calculating shipping for different locations

Marketplaces are great, and we're hoping to finally combine our three websites (US, EU, Australia) into one using geolocation and such, but the last hurdle is how to calculate shipping based on the location that has stock. If someone in the US wants to order something from our EU warehouse because it's only in stock there, we're more than willing to allow that, but we need shipping to calculate for that location, rather than the US warehouse. Is there an app that will do this?

That's a great question, thanks for posting!

While this feature isn't currently an option natively, it is available with the help of an app. That being said, as this would be such a fantastic feature for us to implement, I will be passing this along as a feature request on your behalf.

As mentioned above, this can be achieved using one of the many shipping apps in the Shopify App Store. Two of the most popular options are ShipStation and Advanced Shipping Rules. These apps allow you to set specific rules your shipping rates must follow when a user checks out. For example, an order fulfilling from the closest warehouse, or warehouse where the product is still available if the former is sold out. 

Please note, these apps do require you to have Carrier Calculated Shipping enabled in your account. This is a paid add-on for monthly accounts, or provided for free on our annual plans and Advanced Plan.
