App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
I manage two brick and mortar museum stores. Inventory needs to be replenished daily especially in the summer months. With my previous POS system there was a simple report that could group each store separately and show items sold by store, by vendor, and by SKU. This made it very easy for my inventory clerk to pull those items and deliver them to the needed location.
I see that I can run a sales by product report in Shopify, but it looks like I would have to export it into a csv file, open it in Excel, and then do some cutting and pasting and filtering to line up the print out as follows:
Store Number | Vendor Name | SKU | Item Name | Number of Items Sold
Does anyone know if there is an app/plugin that could streamline that process. We can easily sell a hundred different SKUs a day at each location and we only have one clerk to take care of both locations.
Our Report Toaster app could so this for you. You can start with one of our templates and customize as you wish. Please feel free to take a look and reach out to support with any questions.
Hey @Sharon_F I'm curious if you are using Shopify POS with your Shopify site or another POS now?
Beyond this you might be able to utilize SKUSavvy to link with Shopify and Shopify POS to track inventory across each location. When inventory is sold on the POS it will come into SKUSavvy as an already fulfilled order, and a reconciliation record. So at the end of each period you would see exactly what inventory was sold, and replenish with exactly that many. Furthermore, you could set up bin locations around the store with small QR codes and scan the new inventory into that location so it will updates quantities.
SKUSavvy is a full Shopify WMS that uses a visual warehouse layout to manage inventory, purchases, pick-pack-ship etc. and in this case could provide you with a way to reconcile each days inventory sales by product/vendor/sku/location in an organized list by store.
It may very well be that this is too much for your use case.
Hi @Sharon_F
Claudia here from Better Reports.
I would recommend our app Better Reports for this.
We have a built-in report showing sales by location that can easily be edited to include any product detail needed (Vendor, SKU, product and variant name, etc)
In addition to this, Better Reports has more than 60 built-in reports available out of the box that cover many common use cases for merchants. You can schedule reports to run at set frequencies to your email or Google Drive or export the reports in CSV, Excel or PDF format.
I encourage you to install Better Reports and start your free 14-day trial and I'll be happy to set this up for you.
What do you think?
Hello @Sharon_F,
There is a possibility to make a small app that will create such reports for you, this takes up to 1 week of development. Or you can use the subscription to other apps mentioned here if they deal with the Shopify POS in the way you require (I have doubts all of them can do).
Best regards,
Anastasia
