App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
I have been looking at all the apps that work with Qucikbooks but none really tell me if they work with QB Point of Sale. I track all my inventory in POS and do all my data entry there expect for my monthly bills. Those get entered direct in to QB desktop. Is there an app that will transfer my sales from Shopify to QB POS vs QB Desktop?
Greetings @barondurden ,
The CartSpan eCommerce integration for Shopify supports QuickBooks POS. It also offers some handy inventory management features if you are a retail store that carries minimal inventory. Would love to chat further about your business requirements.
Thanks,
Scott
@swheeler. Thanks, I have looked at this earlier in the yard but start up cost with then the extra QODBC software needed is just to great and not worth it. If it was only the start up cost the annual maintenance then maybe.
Hi @barondurden,
Thanks for the reply.
Note that integration with QuickBooks POS DOES NOT require the QOCBC connector unless you carry in excess of 25K items in the POS system. 25K is a threshold that I have identified; it's not a hard/fast rule developed by anyone other than myself. When attempting to get data out of POS using the QB API, and there are more than 25K items, it's easy to trigger an 'Out-of-Memory' error that kills the process. Normally, >25K items isn't and issue, but POS API responses are so verbose and calling partial record information is not an option. That's where the QODBC driver comes in as an option. I swear that FlexQuarters has a different underlying technology for going after this data (versus Intuit published API). I have one customer with ~80K items that I can poll partial record info in a matter of seconds using QODBC without the risk of 'Out-of-Memory' occurring. Perhaps this is why FlexQuarters has a bundling relationship with regular QuickBooks Accounting and it comes included with Enterprise Edition.
Please reach out if this additional information changes anything.
Best Regards,
Scott
@swheeler , OK now I am thinking on this some more. Let me get past the holidays and lets see how this all works and total cost will be.
Would love to discuss exactly what your needs are and incorporate them into my newly developed app.
