Hi there! I'm looking for a bundle app that allows multiple discounts...or maybe that's a Shopify problem in general? I need it to have discounted product bundles but then also allow customers to use a coupon code that discounts the full price items...is this possible?
Hi
There are 2 different types of bundle apps.
One type is creating custom pages in your theme and letting your buyers select different items as part of a bundle before check out. These are then added as individual order lines and a discount code applied. Shopify only lets you use one discount code so the buyer cannot add another one in this scenario.
Other type of bundler apps are ones like our bundleup app which are basically normal products which you then describe as a bundle or use variation options to add ability for buyers to select different sets or combinations. You track the components of the bundle in the background. The benefit of this type is no discount is used for the bundle as you determine the final price like any other product.
There are 3 main function of our app:
1. Discount Code Compatible
As the bundle is shown as one order line in checkout we don't need to use any discount codes to adjust price. This lets the buyer add a discount code themselves that applies to whole order.
2. Inventory Management
Our app lets you connect up products to correct SKUs and we then update their inventory based on the component stock level.
3. Order Fulfilment
When you sell one of the variations the master stock level won't reduce automatically. What our app does is update the order post purchase by replacing the order line with the Single SKU as order line which then reduces that stock. This then feeds into point 1 above where it updates all linked variants.

But each bundle needs to be its ow product listing correct? What about volume discounts?
Hi
The way Bundleup works is you create a separate product so the user just purchases a preset bundle.
You can define options for the bundle using the native Shopify variants. For example:
Option 1: Pants Size
Option 2: Shirt Size
So in above example you have a bundle of pants and shirts and the buyer selects size for each but the checkout will only show one order line. This allows the buyer to then apply a discount code.
For volume discounts you can also set up options like:
Option 1: Pack Size: 1, 3, 6
What Bundleup does is then lets you map the multi packs against the single SKU so the inventory is calculated based on it. So if you can't make up a 6 pack the store will show it as out of stock. After a buyer purchases a 6 pack the order is then converted from 1 x 6 pack to 6 x single packs for fulfilment purposes.

But each bundle needs to be its own product listing correct? What about volume discounts?
Yes but not necessary. You can use an existing product listing and convert it into a bundle using our app. You may check our tutorials here but please feel free to skip the parts that instruct on creating a separate listing (this is actually intended for merchants who have not created a product listing yet) and go directly to this part "Next, go to Bundle Kit and click on New Bundle from the top menu."

For volume discounts, you can override the price of the bundle (https://help.bundlekit.io/displaying-bundle-price-as-a-sale-price) and let your customers use a discount code at the end of checkout. Just ensure that the discount type used is "Amount of order".

This is Jun from Bundle Kit.
Our bundle is capable of meeting your needs. Since you mentioned that you'd like to have the product bundles to be discounted, you may consider using our app to override the bundle price as a sale price. Here's an article: https://help.bundlekit.io/displaying-bundle-price-as-a-sale-price
Customers may also use a discount code at the end of checkout since Bundle Kit bundles are built on top of normal Shopify products and do not interfere with discount codes.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Does the bundle need to be a separate product listing?
