App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
I have a bunch of products that we are pushing to the store through Spocket, all of which need a lot of tag and description clean up. Unfortunately, doing this in Spocket (while pleasantly streamlined for the GUI) is a very slow process with hundreds of products.
I would like to push them all directly to Shopify, download them as a CSV, correct tags and descriptions, and then re-upload the corrected information. My question is: if I upload a CSV with the corrections, will I break the connect to Spocket and mess with order and stock process flows?
Also, totally open to a smoother process if it exists.

Hi Thimbleberry,
We just released a bulk editing app called Super Sheet which might be what you are looking for -
https://apps.shopify.com/super-sheet . The app uses API to directly load the data, and UI is a spreadsheet so you should be able to cleanup tags & descriptions fast, plus you can easily remove all tags that are inserted by Spocket etc. with the "bulk edit" feature from multiple products (the app actually started as an easy way to cleanup tags, descriptions etc that came from the inventory apps!) . Feel free to try or ask if you have any questions about the app!

It seems like a dumb question, but will doing this affect the link between the listing and the original product on Spocket? I've been hesitant to find myself manually updating stock and processing orders.
You should double check from Spocket (I don't have experience from Spocket unfortunately), but usually how these dropshipping/inventory apps work, is that they sync/push, (ie. copy the product details) the inventory to your Shopify store from theirs and the products are tracked with ids (which you can not modify) so it's safe to modify product details in Shopify.
Now the syncing part might cause some issues, mainly that if the sync from Spocket to Shopify always replaces the product, then any changes you did on Shopifys side are lost. Many apps give you an option how you'd like the sync to work (as to not override changes in Shopify) - it would be good idea to verify this from Spocket too.
If you're still looking for a solution I would recommend our Ablestar Bulk Product Editor. If you'd like to edit the tags in descriptions in bulk (like add a tag to all products matching a condition) you can do that with an in-app edit:
You can also upload a spreadsheet with your tags and descriptions and update your products from that (unlike in the Shopify Admin you can see the progress of your edit and undo it if necessary)
We also have a free plan of 5 edits/month (with no limit on the number of products) which could be a good fit if you're just wanting to make a few fixes.
