Can customers see individual product IDs for each item in their order?

I am trying to to figure out how to find a product ID per order number. To better explain. If a customer were to order 2 red shirts, one small and one large, would there be a product ID for each individual item in one order?

I am setting up a manual return service for my customers who want to return an item within 30 days of delivery. My customers would have to select which item(s) they choose to return.

So if a customer were to return one out of two or more items, would there be a product ID for each individual item? Would the customer be able to see the product ID number?
