Can I add a new section to the checkout page for a widget app?

I wanna know if it is possible to add a new section on the checkout page. Because i am working on a widget app for shopify stores and i want to add a widget on the checkout page as well.

I think you can not add any section to the check-out page. If you want to add maybe you can get special permission from Shopify then you can add the custom section.

If you are a Shopify Plus customer, you can completely the layout of checkout page with checkout.liquid and checkout.scss.liquid files in the Shopify theme.

However, because this work needs to be done in theme so if you don't have any coding background, I think you will need a developer.

If you are not a Shopify Plus customer, you can only edit some components on checkout page. Please check this Shopify article: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/checkout-settings/checkout-style
