App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Hi all,
As you can with Amazon, I want to have multiple SKUs for each variation as we have two pools of stock, one in the UK and one in the USA. For some reason, this isn't possible within Shopify itself. Is anyone aware of an app I can use for this?
For context, I'm a UK based Shopify seller that wishes to use Amazon's multi channel fulfilment service to use my Amazon USA stock to fulfil orders from my USA Shopify customers. Obviously I don't wish to use my USA Amazon stock to fulfil my UK Shopify orders which is why I need two SKUs for each variant.
Thanks,
Marc

@LWFP another idea, what if you set up 2 Locations for each products, then when the order comes in set the location based on the shipping location.
Then you don't have to have multiple products or multiple skus, just routing to the correct inventory location based on shipping address.
If that doesn't solve it, in addition to searching bar code apps, you can try a metafields app, which allows you to add extra fields to products. Something like Metafields Custom Field Master.
Hi @LWFP,
You're correct in saying that you can't add multiple SKUs for a single variant on Shopify. The workaround would be adding two different products or variants—one for US and one for the UK—although I recognize this may not be ideal from an inventory management perspective, or because you'd then have two versions of the same product/ variant on the storefront.
I'd recommend checking out the SKU and barcode apps section on the Shopify App Store and seeing if any of these apps would allow you to add multiple SKUs to a single variant.
