Can I create a B2B ecommerce on my existing B2C Shopify?

Hi there,

I'm interested in creating a B2B platform on my B2C website. I was thinking on implementing a login feature for my B2B customers. Do you have any experience with this? Is it feasible, or is Shopify more geared towards B2C?

I'm concerned about using too many apps, as I want a seamless solution for my B2B clients. Customizing and integrating multiple apps can create challenges. What are your thoughts on this? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Hey @viktori4! You can definitely accomplish this. While I can certainly understand not wanting to have too many different apps, if you're trying to create a single site with different features for B2B and B2C, I would definitely recommend using an app for this.

There are some different options depending on what exactly you are trying to accomplish, but an app such as Sparklayer B2B is generally a really good option for a single app that provides a little of different B2B functionalities for your site so that you don't have to have a bunch of different apps.

Summary

Make two stores if your not able to pay for shopify Plus

B2B features are only for enterprise shopify PLUS plans.

That does not stop everyday features used for B2C being used for B2B

Basic shopify does not have a native way to create two login systems on one store its all or nothing.

There are apps like locksmith that can help gate parts of a website.

Concern is pointless without an actual definition of why.

Do the math: these apps/features make you revenue or they don't use them or create your own app using the apis.

Want and afford are two different things, if your just starting and unsure of all these things findable with research that's an indication you need to hire someone because there is going to be a steep learning curve ahead.

Since you have not mentioned any specific feature, please refer the below URL where we have modify the theme code to fulfill the B2B.

Feature we have created are mentioned below

- SKU appearing also in the collection page
- ⁠Prices and “add to cart” button must be visible only for logged in customers. If not, must be hidden
- ⁠On all the registration pages we have to create two mandatory fields: VAT number and Fiscal code
- Code automatic discounts based on customer tag.
- Compare at price will become the retail price and price will be B2B price

Example:

In the backend: Price €19,40, Compare at price €37,90
On the website must appear

B2B Price €15,90 (€19,40/1,22 rounded), Retail price €37,90
